I have been looking at a lot of goldfish pictures lately, and was surprised to find some yellow goldfish. Is that a color that is hard to find? Does anybody out there have one?

I have seen quite a lot of them for sale recently here in the UK. They have appeared in the last few years, before that I had never seen one.

You mean a lemon head goldfish ??? its yellow in the head and white on the body ???

i'm not sure about uk but its not the kind u see everyday! I would think its pretty special but its not as uncommon as it is now i guesss..it use to be tho!

Fish as fine as those on the link are few and far between. I have never seen any available. I am sure if you looked around and sought out such a fish, though, it should be available.....

It never fails - if I am looking for something specific it tends to show up within about 2-3 years...... funny how that works.

Oh wow a yellow one! Thats so amazing theres so many goldfish colors, to think I was suprised with a blue goldfish a while back

It may be difficult to find them in shops, but it may be possible to get them from goldfish clubs and societies. Here in the UK the Goldfish Society of Great Britain has many specialist breeders who produce amazing fish.

EXACTLY. I put out feelers for some Bristols and, lo and behold - 2 years later a bag of them finds its way to me. I truly believe if you talk to enough people and look around enough, you can find just about anything......

i realize many here are from other countries, and i wonder about the ones from up north of me, (texas) but here the bait shops sell goldfish as bait. usually a quarter each or so, from small to very large. any color, calicos, koi, as this thread mentioned, yellow, you name it, they have them.

when i had my outside pond, baitshops were where i got my fish at. just as nice, healthy and pretty as any in a pet store.

if yall have any bait shops, check them. people here use them as bait for trotlines, esp.

my pond fish had babies several times, no filter, tons of plants, and i usually fed them dry cat food, mostly they ate off the natural food in the pond. i knew nothing back then about these fish, yet they not only lived but thrived, grew huge, and had babies.

anyone with outdoor ponds tho, i urge to watch for snakes. they decimated my pond.

I got my first commons at a Lawn and Garden center for a quarter apiece so that's another good place to look. Most of them were healthy and beautiful, too. Here's a pic of one of my all time favorites--

I've got an imperial yellow comet, it's bright yellow and has lovely long finnage. There was a large batch imported here to australia about 4-5 months ago, the first time they've been seen out here. Our lfs had many bags of these brought in for sale, they all went like hot cakes, but they haven't been available since the importers/wholesalers ran out. We are hoping to get another shipment here to australia, they're fantastic looking fish, so vivid. I ~think~ they are pretty rare, but I'm only guessing here, it was the first time I'd seen/heard of them when they turned up at my lfs

The one I own is a really small one, only an inch or so long, there were also some larger ones imported, about 3 inches long, but I wanted to buy a younger one and grow it up.

a while back our local had in. I didn't see them again. Now if I had a large pond I'd really want some of those in
there. Yellow fish are so vivid;



And then theres the beautiful golden yellow of the albino siamese doll- that color never changes-

When my fry change colors they are yellow/pale orange in the beginning, then the color deepens to bright orange. None of my babies have stayed yellow so far....
