One of my 55g sits empty right now due to Keitaro being treated in QT for gill disease..How can I keep the cycle on this tank? Do i drop food in water changes ect?

I was wondering the same thing. I am going to use my ammonia, since I have a ton of it.

Yeah, ammonia would be the most direct way to go - that's directly what the bacteria feast on. I guess dropping in food would work too, but it'd also leave a mess after a while.
