Nickie
Okay, I did a wc at 11:30 today. As usual, it was a big wc as my ammonia has been climbing very high in a short amount of time. Rising from .25-.50 to 1.0-2.0 in 24 hrs time. Usually, by this time at night (it has been 9 1/2 hrs since the wc was completed) my ammonia is already at .50-1.0.

I just checked my params on the tank across the board and my ammonia IS BARELY registering at all!!!! I have fed my fish twice today, too. No nitrites, nitrates are between .5-10 (they were at .5 as that is what I have in my tap, but it is darker tonight) and PH is at 7.0 but it is 6.8 out of the tap. Please see my post called, "Have another question about PH".

Keep your finger crossed that hopefully it is gonna happen this time!!!!! fishtank2.gif

Yay! congrats Nickie! i heard that climbing pH might mean the tank starts to cycle! gudluksn.gif <<---see, my fingers are crossed for ya, good luck

Nope. I just checked the params and the ammonia is still VERY low; between .25-.50; usually by this time the ammonia would be at 1.5-2.0, PH is at 7.2 again, climbed from 6.8 to 7.2 in 24 hrs. No nitrites; nitrates the same. Oh well, I figured it was wishful thinking!!!! sad.gif cry3.gif Sorry I got your hopes up!!! And mine, too.

It's still positive, Sweety! biggrin.gif

You're ammonia level has dropped and your nitrates went up - so something in there is changing! exactly.gif
Give everything a little more time, and don't lose that hope!! 00001649.gif

Thanks, Deb! The problem is that I only have a little more time left. We are moving soon and I was hoping to have some BB's to xfer to the tank when we move. Then, I may have a little bump in the cycle, but hopefully nothing that wouldn't be straightend out in a week or so. Now, it looks like I will have to start all over again at the new house. I plan on putting the filters in a bucket full of tank water and moving them that way. I'm not sure how much, if any, other tank water I can xfer over to the new house??? It is gonna be hard to do at any rate...

It would figure, wouldn't it? That the tank FINALLY cycles, and you have to move it? blink.gif I think those bb'b are toying with you!! biggrin.gif
I think most of the important bb's are in the filter and ornaments anyway. I've read in many places that the water doesn't really hold all that many - so I wouldn't think that's a big worry there.
How far is your new place from where you are now? (Did you get that house with the pond? I haven't peeked at that thread in a day or so)
But if it does cycle before you move, and the move only bumps it, that's nothing compared to it crashing and having to start over.
We're all hoping you can sit and enjoy your tank - instead of seeing it as a chore!! heartpump.gif
I still have my hopes up for you. exactly.gif

I know I sound like a broken record, but if you could check your KH, you'de have a little more ammunition. I notice that once you make sure KH is at or near 100, cycling speeds up tremendously. thumbup.GIF

Yep, we are renting the house with the pond. However, the fish are SUPPOSED to be going back to their owner and he is SUPPOSED to put them in his pond at his new house.

Yes, Dear, I know you have told me this, but my money tree in the back yard stopped producing, so I can't really afford the test right now. rofl3.gif
