I think I want to try this for my 125g. Anybody have any recent experience to share with it?

Well I decided I'm buying it tomorrow, if they have Saturday delivery. I'll report back on my findings later.

Looks interesting. I recently put up a 55 gallon. I just took one of my filters from my 29 gallon a 350 penguin, added a renaxp3 and another penguin200. Just by moving this one cycled filter over and having the same amount of fish. I never went through a mini cycle. I still have the 29 gallon going and I bought another filter to put on there, along with a penguin 150, this tank never had a bump either. There is only one fish in my 29, he has fin rot and I have him all salted up and feeding medi gold.

Please do.

I found an LFS in Jacksonville that carries the 4oz bottles, so gonna have hubby go down there this weekend and get me a couple bottles. He has to go down there anyway, so will be able to save the overnight shipping costs! Sweet!

Kewl! I am getting lots of established media ready for my 125 too, but just in case, I want to be prepared.

Just FYI, for anyone wanting to purchase this stuff. I had to get the 4oz. bottles, cuz it was the only size carried by a Ft. Lauderdale (made a mistake in earlier post - it was Ft. Lauderdale, NOT Jacksonville) LFS. We got two to start with. The 4oz. contain about 116ml (give or take, it's not in front of me right now), and the dosage is 29ml per roughly 35 gallons. Since it has to be dosed 1 time per day for 5 days, 8 oz. is enough for a 55 gallon tank, but 16 oz. will be needed for a tank twice that size.

So I'm going to test it on my 55g, which is near the end of its current cycle (had to restart it after a crash - due to low KH combined with a heavy tank cleaning and not enough BB's to sustain). I kinda wish I had a brand new cycle to test it on, but if it ends this one quickly, I'll be tempted to see what it does on a larger scale.

Just a little more info on the application:

Dr. Erik Johnson had suggested using it daily in the first few days, but I spoke with a tech at Turbostart today who said that the bacteria is meant to be dosed once only - but dosing more than once will not hurt, as overdosing is not possible.

Good to know!!

I have started this in two tanks, but nothing really crazy wonderful to report yet. I'll give it a good 5 days in each tank first.

That's my neck of the swamp. Would that be Fish*Paradise? That's the only one I know of around here.

Lola, when I first saw the thread title, I thought it was a new video game you were thinking of getting for your son. rofl3.gif

IMO, not worth the money. It seemed to accelerate the first stage - ammonia to nitrite, but not the second stage: nitrite to nitrate. After 7 days, nitrites are still spiking.

Maybe it'll work on the 125, but I am disappointed it didn't work in either of my 55 or 45.
