Last night, after I fed my fish, I put my container of gel food in the fridge instead of the freezer. When I got up this morning, I noticed it in the fridge. Do you think it would be okay to put back in the freezer? If not, how long can it stay in the fridge before I have to throw it all out and make more? It really makes me mad because this was the whole batch I had made up. I usually take it out of the freezer, takes some out to feed the fish, then put the container back in the freezer. Thanks!

I would say you probably need to throw it out, especially if you used "meat products" like blood worms, tuna, etc.

This is Mazuri gel food. It comes in a powder form and you just add hot water, stir, and let it set up in the fridge, then freeze it. It does have krill in it, though.

In general, once something has been frozen and thawed, it is not a good idea to refreeze it. It does not necessarily spoil it, but it will introduce ice crystals and breakdown sooner.
Since you did not leave it out without refrigeration, there is no need to toss it at all. Just use it.
Do the directions have a suggestion as to how long it is supposed to last in the fridge as opposed to the freezer?
I guess I would take out the amount I think I would use for about 5-7 days and freeze the rest, again. Use the thawed stuff for the next 5-7 days - replacing it in the fridge after each use. Then, if the stuff that you have refrozen gets crystalized or spoiled in any way, you only have lost some of it.
