I know I figured this out once before but I cn't for the life of me remember how. I bought some anacharis, which is all floating at the top. I realy want it to stay at the bottom. Suggestions on how to do it before I start experimenting with "weights".

My anacharis is simply planted into the gravel and it stays there just fine. Then again I dont have any kind of fish that pull it up and I also have 1 1/2 to 2 inches of gravel on the bottom of the tank as well to hold it in place and give ample room for roots to grow.

That was very helpful. I had been putting them into about 1/2 inch of gravel and it wasn't working. I piled up a couple of spots and was successful so I will get more gravel.

I would maby try to find some thing that will hold it
down.
Untill the roots grow in the gravel and then they shouldn't move.

(nods) Im glad I could help. Its always a good idea to have at least 1 1/2 inches of gravel/substrate in any planted to especially because it not only holds the plants better but then the roots will take a much stronger hold and will root deeper as well.Ive never had any of my plants come out on their own or from anything unless I uproot them or move them.

I've rubber-banded them to larger stones until they have an adequare root system to keep them in the gravel on their own

Just a question
do they grow faster when they're planted into gravel
i put mine with the goldfish fry and it seems to
grow quiet quickly and it also produces bubbles on the surface of the water

Im sure that they can grow,But there kinda ment to be
in gravel.Im sure eventually it might die
Because it an't getting no nutrience from the
gravel.
So being in gravel will be alot healty.

I have to use weights with mine, even with the weight sometimes when they get to long they will float up to the top, then the goldfish will eat any of the roots they have grown, so I have to start all over, I will probably always have to use weights!!
