The new test kit I got is missing instructions and the colorchart, does anyone know the instructions and have a pic of the colorchart for me? I'll try to google it too, cause I really want to test my water with the new kit but I cant really do that without the instruction.....

Wow that's a bummer. I hate when that happens.

I don't have the Tetra Kit, I have the API so I'm sorry I can't help you.

Listen, if we use the 1st API strip as a guide I'll match the colours for you.
API 0) > Yellow = 0 Tetra
API 20) > orange =12.5 Tetra
if you mix the colour of API 20 and 40) > dark orange = that would be 25 Tetra
API 40) > red = 50 Tetra.
Anything darker than that and you're a very bad fish mom!
That should do for now. OK?

ok, I tested the water. It looked kinda pale orangish at first but when I looked at it in better light it was yellow! So my nitrate really is zero

. I did everything u told me too, so this must be right, but how.....

Oh man! We're back to the mystery 'no nitrates'.
Weel, let me think..... Did you make sure to allow the zinc powder to disolve properly and allow 10 mins for the colour to develop?
Or, had you just done a water change before testing?
Or it could be up to 10ppm - the colour only turns orange at 12.5
I'm pretty stumped with your water and wonder if someone like Daryl may be able to sleuth it out.
Test agin tomorrow and let us know.

I did wait for the powder to dissolve and I waited 10 minutes. I just tested my other tank and its 12.5, so its just this 1 tank
