Has anyone else had success growing trees in aquariums other than mangroves?
Currently I am growing a native decidous tree species (not sure which species yet) in a small aquarium successfully although the water level is low due to its small size but as it grows I plant on raising the water level with it.It actually grows better for me in water than it did in potting soil. lol.GIF

Do you mean completely submerged? Or just the root system? I do have tried bamboo, you know the kind they sell as lucky bamboo on chinese markets, but they don't seem to like that they are not really getting the light from the tank, since the light only shines on their roots.
I don't know how they would work fully submerged, though.
I keep mine now in my tortoise tank in a chinese bamboo ceramic pot filled with water and gravel, and they do good there.
Do you have a picture of your tree? I wonder how it looks like... smile.gif
