Is it from an injury or an accident? Do you have pics? Have they grown back?

My oranda Sash used to have that problem when he was little. He would have missing scales then and there, but it would grow back. I think it was from accidental injuries.

Any chasing by other tankmates? Any other signs it could be illness - red streaks, anything else? Have a close look and post back.
Also, it would be good to get yourself a new nitrate kit, hun. It's been a while since it expired and it would just help you to know your actual level.

there is no other fish in the tub, it could be an injury but he keeps losing more. There's no red streaks or anything and he's eating normal and everything. I could try to get a pic but it might not show up. Not ne store here int he city sells a nitrate testkit, i'll have to order one online or wait till we go to the US. The scales havent grown back yet, it was pretty recent.
