One of Shadow's eyes has been slightly bigger than the other one and cloudy for quite some time now. Also the weird film kinda stuff they have over their eyes is bigger on this eye, stands out almost like a bubble, can be seen from top view. He's almost blind in this eye and I was wondering why its like that and if it'll get better

Shadow has trouble finding food, sometimes he wont even get it if it lands on his head lol, but I usually drop it infront of him and hand feed them often.

i'll try to get a pic later but he's camera shy and always swims away, the cloudiness sometimes gets better but its worse again today and if I wave my hand infront of that eye he wont notice me at all until he turns around

is it possibly some sort of fungus? or maybe even popeye? one of my bettas developed pop eye on just one eye and it was all cloudy.
how you said the eye sticks out too kinda makes me think it could be pop eye.

no it isnt popeye and it isnt fungus either, I heard that it normal for a moor to have a cloudy eye cause thei damage them so easily but he's almost blind in it and I wanna know if it'll get better and if the eyes will ever be the same size again. It aint a big difference but it is noticable.

oh, sorry, i didn't know it was a moor....one of my moor's eyes is bigger than the other too...has been since i got him almost 3 years ago... and...every now and then i notice some cloudiness on his eyes too.....but it's not alot, and it comes and goes. The only thing that I have noticed is that when I have the salt level at .2% -.3%, the cloudiness seems to go away......but that's just with my guy, i dunno if that would work for you or not. Either way, I hope your little guy doesn't go completely blind. But I'm sure you keep him very happy, and as long as he is healthy otherwise, that's all that matters

yup, he's a moor, salt doesnt seem to help him. I also hope that he doesnt go completely blind, he already sometimes bumps into wires and ornaments

mine does the same thing! he just swims into whatever like he doesn't even see that it is there....and when it is feeding time, he knows the food is in there, but he can't get it too good.....i don't know if he is actually partially blind, or if it is just how their eyes are situated that they can't see very well.

yeah, but Im sure that he's almost blind in that eye, if I wave my hand infront of it he wont notice a thing, but if I do it on the other side it'll startle him

awww, the poor little guy
is he still able to get food OK?

yeah, I drop the food close to him and often handfeed them, although he seems to like the taste of my hand better than the food lol, when he comes up I hold the food above the water and then basically put it right in his mouth when he opens it lol, that way he knows where it is

another thing about his eye, is that the slighlty bigger one also faces slightly downward
