Does anyone know anything about "Dwarf Lily Bulbs?" We had decided to put real plants in the new tank to help with nitrates as our tap water has a reading of 20ppm. We bought a package of Dwarf Lily Bulbs a couple of weeks ago and plopped them into Ginger's new tank (it's still cycling, he/she hasn't moved in yet) and they have grown pretty well. A few of them have reached the top of the tank already! Are they okay to have in there when Ginger moves in? Will Ginger eat them?

Okay so one part of one of the plants has shot up like 4 inches since yesterday to extend over the waterline and there appears to be a flower poking out crazy.gif

goldfish like those plants, i used to have them, they bloom and go crazy for awhile, then you will see a die off, with in a couple of months at the most they will regrow again. the goldfish wont eat them all up but you will see holes in the leafs from bites biggrin.gif

Thanks, koko. Ginger seems to have taken a liking to shredding the stems. I saw some floating around and at first I thought it was really light & wispy fish poop but then I realized it was part of one of the stems!

I picked up some Java Fern and some Hornwart yesterday, did a bleach dip and now they're in a bucket waiting for another bleach dip in a few days. Woo, some real goldfish plants!
