Has anyone ever fed these to their GF? I bought some at Wally-World tonight and want to know if they are okay to feed the GF before I do. They are made by Tetra and says they are okay for saltwater and freshwater fish. On the back it says:
*Complete shrimp, including shell, are an excellent source of roughage to support digestion. Ideal for nearly all large ornamental fish including Gouramis, Angels, and Goldfish.

It says for smaller fish, to break it up with your fingers, so that is what I will do for Jaws and Hammy. I was gonna get freeze dried bloodworms, but decided on these instead. What do ya'll think? If I get the okay, I will give them some tomorrow. Thanks!!!

Well, no one answered, so I went ahead and fed some of these to my fish this morning. I put them in some tank water and them microwaved for 20 secs to make them sink as they were floating in the tank water in the cup I put them in. I let them cool, then fed them to my fish. They seem to like them!
Hammy was not quite sure what to do with them when I put them in the tank. He spat them out at first for a few times. Jaws, of course, had no problem sucking them right up! LOL!
As these are 44% protein, I wonder how many times a week I should feed them to my fish? Any suggestions on this?

Foods like that, I usually break them up, soak them in a tiny container of tank water, and put it in the fridge for a while.

It's got a lot of protein so assuming you feed them twice a day, I would say no more than a few meals a week.

Thanks JOH!
I don't think my fish liked them as much as I thought. I just did a water change and found most of them hidden between the few rocks they have in the tank. Oh well, I guess I will try them again another day. Do your fish like any protein-type foods, like bloodworms, etc? I don't want to go and buy a lot of stuff that my fish won't eat.

Yeah the same here. They liked it but didn't go crazy over Jumbo Shrimp from Goldfishconnection either. Yes they did love frozen bloodworms. Only buy from name brands like Hikari and from a reputable store. They should have the parasite free certification stamped on it.

They absolutely go crazy over live brine shrimps. However, a couple of years ago, Sash got dropsy and I suspect they might have been the cause. I believe as much as they loved it, I think live foods are not worth the risk. sad.gif
