I have a 3month tank setup with a small oranda in a 10gal tank, good filtration (fluval 2) and so on.
I feed him flakes and sinking pellets (alternate each day) and I add stresscoat after every water change, have added White Spot treatment for 2months now.
He can't swim, the only thing keeping him alive is the filter pushing him around, and I have to feed him by holding him and moving him around towards flakes so he can eat them.
I have a funny feeling he has swimbladder disease or constipation as one side of him is fairly swollen/bulging. No pineconing.
He's been like this 3 days or so now, and he's still alive, other than this I think he's fairly healthy as he's not looking too bad, at least I've figured out how to feed him.
Any help would be nice, I was considering thawed frozen peas but its a struggle to get him to eat flakes as it is.
Thanks,
Seph

Gooday Seph and welcome.
I'm sorry about your little oranda.
I wonder if you could fill out as many details a s you can from the box above? I know its a pain but I gaurantee its the very best start for us to get the full picture and enable the best advice.

I've mentioned everything except for tank params and water chanes. I do a 50% water change every 2-3 days but i was doing 25% daily before.

The water params are very important. Do you not test them? They are especially important during cycling a new tank, or when a fish is sick. They could very well be why your fish is sick.

Hi there.
I just wanted to say how important it is for you to know what your water readings are. It's very hard to diagnose and treat fish without them. Do you have a test-kit? If not, I'd strongly recommend getting one ASAP - but just for now you could get your water tested at the local fish/pet store - ask for exact numbers not 'good' or 'normal'.
Until you can post back there are a couple of things I'm wondering about:
You say you've been treating white spot for two months. This seems rather a long time. Can you tell us which medication you are using and anything more about why you've been treating for so long? That would help.
Also, I notice you are feeding flake. This can be bad for GFish as it floats on the surface and they can take in a lot of air whilst trying to feed. This can often be a factor in swim bladder problems. If he seems swollen you might try fasting for a day. But we really need to know more about the water before we can help you properly.
Hope to hear how things are.
