Salt resistance is not highly likely, but is still a consideration. It is better to keep the salt for times when it is really needed for a purpose - it will have more effect that way.

Thanks . Since my tank has been cycled I have not been adding anymore salt. So I did the right thing.

No. And when treating, I try to keep it limited to a couple of weeks.
