I bought 1/2lb of HBH Goldfish Flake Frenzy. This will take along time to finish. If I take some out, can I put the rest in the fridge? Will the flakes last longer? If not, how can I preserve them?

If you can, you might want to vacuum seal them and place in a dry cool place. The fridge tends to be humid and may make the dry flakes rot.

Can't you just freze them? Then later when you need more food, pull out the ammount you need, or enough for the week.

Actually, freezing, as well as refrigerating, is not recommended - as stated by Nenn. Also stated - vacumn packing the excess is the BEST way of saving them. If you do not have a vacumn sealer, put them into a plastic bag, push out all the air and seal them up. Then put them in a cool, darker, dry place. Only open them when you need to take out more.... They will last quite a long time if left unopened to the humidity.
