I've been looking for some nice colorful fish to add to my community tank lately and I'm wondering about female bettas? Right now I have 5 neons, 6 xrays tetras, 3 black skirts and 4 cories. I was thinking of getting a single female betta, but I just happened to see a tank full of GEORGOUS females yesterday and I want to get two of them. Is this ok? I know they aren't agressive like the males, but I wasn't sure if it would still be a good idea to have just one.
Thanks,
Chrissy

I believe the females do better either singly or in groups of 3 or more. With just 2 you can get a constant fight for supremacy between them. In larger groups the competition is more spread out. It also depends on individual personalities. I am not sure how they would do with the neons and tetras.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to do a bit more research I guess. I'd like to get 3, but I don't want to risk stressing any of the fish already in there...

my best friend recently purchased 2 female bettas for her community tank and they haven't been aggressive at all.

Really? That's good news. I think I'll get them and if they become agressive I have a snail tank they can be moved to. They are just too georgous not to get them!!
