Just got back from Wally world. Guess what I found.... Somebody left this little guy in a shopping cart in the parking lot.



Thanks to bettaqueen and postman I'm a little more educated in how to care for bettas so we'll see if I can save this one this time. I think I'll name him wally...I don't know...what do y'all think?

This time I started out right...I think. He's at 80f already. I'm raising the salt level slowly and just observing for now. I don't know how long he was out there so I'm not sure what to expect.

Wow what a pretty butterfly veil tail. It is good that you rescued him. No telling how long he might have sat there maybe even undiscovered untill it was too. Late. good going. If he is not ill I would lower his temp to around 76

He's a whaaaa? I went to the sites you suggested for me and learned alot but apparently didn't learn as much as I thought I did if I don't even know what kind he is. LOL I don't know how long he'd been out there. The water was pretty hot for fish so it must have been more than an hour I think. His fins look like they're starting a round of fin rot but he still seems fairly lively. I hope this dosen't turn into another postman-he seems fine one min and the next he's dead!

Yeah maybe. My grandmother used to tell me that if there was a lame duck with in ten miles it would find me! It's always been like this for me.

Butterfly refers to his coloring and veil tail is his tail type. let me see if I can find a pic of a veil tail butterfly betta for you to compare him with
here is a pic of a betta with veiltail coloring . yours just does not have as much white on him as the pic does.
his color is just not as balanced as the fish in the pic is but he is a butterfly. He has the coloring on his dorsal, caudal and anal fins. Dan's betta is a butterfly.

Cooooool! Bettas are so pretty it really is a shame I think that I haven't kept any thus far. I think I may keep this one for myself instead of rehoming him later. Thank's for all your help BQ. You're the onr who's made the difference really. You really helped with those sites and all your other advice!

Supposedly red dragon butterfly. I think he's a halfmoon. But I'm not sure.
