Hey, here's a question for ya...do you breed your bettas?

no I do not breed but many of my freinds on the betta breeders site I belong to are breeders. I am probably one of the few on there who not breed and just keep bettas as pets. they often will offer some of their spawns for sale to members.

ah, that's cool...i was just curious of how to care for betta fry, etc...

well, i was thinking that i would like to try...I read the topic in that forum about breeding for beginners, and it was very helpful. Right now, I don't have all of the proper equipment, or the space needed...but I would definately like to give it a go one day!

I hope you do try some day. However be ready for a big spawn. a spawn can very between 30-100 fry

yes a majority of them do live. The other thing is when the males starting growing you have to seperate them in their own jars to keep them from fighting. I do not want to discourage you just let you know what you are in for.

haha...that was actually my next question...how long before you have to seperate them....i am assuming that they grow pretty fast.

yup they do I hear. You don't have to seperate them untill the boys start fighting and picking on each other

I got a little white girl betta about a month ago after Squirrel passed on but she has a kinda a light yellow shade to her in certain light. Here's a pic--
