I was finally able to get a few decent pics of my ghost shrimp. It wasn't easy! biggrin.gif Here's one posing for the camera.

Here's one of them trying to steal a veggie tablet from my snails. hah.gif Busted!!! She had a good reason tho...she is pregnant. biggrin.gif

I found out they don't like being in a barebottom tank....they look like they are skating on ice. rofl3.gif Poor things. I had to move them temporarily to the snail tank while I had meds in the trop tank. But they are happily back home now.

do u have a video of them skating?
Selena
Cool photos! Have your shrimp had many babies?
Goldyfan
Thank you inkfish! They are so fun to watch.

Hi there Fishcrazy! How ya been? I wish I did have a vid; they are back in the main tank now. Poor things-they tried to run across the glass and they looked like they were treading water! hah.gif

Selena- no unfortunately not. They only have about a 10% chance of successfully rearing babies in a tank with fish in it, because the fish will eat the eggs. But every time I turn around, I see a preggers female. blink.gif I am looking to eventually change my trop tank...I want ghost and cherry shrimp, cory cats, and maybe a bristlenose pleco. Hopefully then I might have a chance to get some babies. Have you ever had ghost shrimp? They are so cool. Only bad thing is, they have about a 9 month lifespan average. But they are worth having. Cute little buggers. heartpump.gif

I have never had shrimp. I haven't seen them at the LFS. I really love the cherry shrimps that I have seen posted here....soooo cute!

They are so cute. I kept them but as you say they had a very short life. I always wondered what I did wrong though. It was years and years ago, perhaps I'll try again. Is that the eggs (green part) in her tummy in the second pic goldyfan? Amazing if you could have them breed. You seem to be doing very well with them.

My lfs is trying to order in some cherry shrimp for me too. They are beautiful! heartpump.gif They had a flower shrimp too...never saw one of those before. Kinda neat!

Tell me about it! Maybe someday if I'm lucky. smile.gif I just went and bought some more shrimp yesterday...5 to be exact. And another pregnant female in the group! They are the coolest little creatures.
