I was at my local Maidenhead Aquatics shop (UK) and they were giving samples of this food. I havent tried it yet, just wondering if anyone else had used it before? It is a very small pellet which has Probiotic added.

Yes. I use it. And have done for years. We get 2 kinds here. One is the purple packet, more expensive and the other the green packet. It is really high quality food and breeders here claim it wont ever give your fish sbd (mmm).
I also use their pro-b fry food (blue packet).
Heres a pic of the purple pack.

Thank you, I have the purple sample one. I havent seen it in the shops around here yet, but will try most new foods just for a change.

which has Probiotic added.
What's that, Claire?

This is what i found out about it- Hikari Germ. This unique, beneficial bacteria overpowers bad bacteria within the intestine reducing it's propagation and ability to lethally infect your fish. Additionally, the proprietary Hikari Germ accelerates the digestive process thereby improving absorption and thereby reducing waste output.

I've tried it too Claire. I was very keen to give it a go after I saw it for sale on Ebay UK last year. I'd heard great things about it. For some reason or another
my fish didn't really take to it

- also, maybe just a personal prefernce but I felt the pellets were just a bit too small. So, I've stuck to Hikari Lionhead in the end

i thought that the pellets are a bit small, my fish are quite big now, although i suppose the loaches would like the smaller ones. Ill give them a go, but i doubt they will even touch the sides of their big mouths!! I am inclined to get the lion head hikari next time as opposed to the oranda one as i think it might be better for them plus i wont have to soak them as long!!

Oh yeah definately give them a go - especially as you have a free sample pack. They're supposed to be very high quality and I've heard great things about them - maybe your fish have better taste than mine?!

Ok well know you know for future reference not to bring up old threads but in my post i did not sound rude at all. There is a rule on this site you are not supposed to reply to old threads only reply if they are 2-3 months old or if you started this thread and are updating you can re post to it. It is because we try to keep the board nice and tidy and bringing up old threads takes up bandwidth which can slow down members with dial up.
Sorry if i sounded rude at all
