ok so i am finally getting my 60g bowfront for my b'day which is in 2 weeks and i am going to plant but i want a kind of gound cover it does not have to cover the whole ground but you know a grassy cover. even if i have to trim it that is fine. Now this brings me to my 2 question what type of ferts should i use?
Peaches
I heard the the florite brand was pretty good for making substraights, and fertilizers.
If your going to do ground cover, i would suggest getting a co2 system and lighting that is atleast 2 watts per gallon. Im not really sure of any plants other than java moss though.

Hey Dan, is this for a goldy tank? -your goldies will uproot anything that doesn't have deep root base (ie like small grassy plants like that one...)

you could try hair-grass pots, but you'll have to keep them in the pots, and they don't fare too well in cold water... so, unless you've got a heater in there with your little guys, hmmn, there's nothing really that I could suggest.. unsure.gif

well it was for goldies, but i thought about trying it in my axie tank since they apparenetly do better with a soft surface rather than a substrate of gravel, because they like to forage through plants so i may give it a go
