Among the many things I feed my goldies there's live ghost shrimp. What I've noticed is when I have shrimps that don't get eaten for a while I seem to have less gunk when I vaccume the gravel. Do ghost shrimp clean the tanks provided they don't get eaten?

yes they do. Shrimp are bottom feeders and they will pretty much eat anything except their own poop. Theyre poop is so small that it breaks down alot faster and therefore, there is alot less gunk in your gravel. My shrimp have kept my 30 gallon spotless.

Cool. I never paid much attention to them because they're dinner ya know. Since I always feel sorry for the live foods I feed I just dump em and go. I don't stick around and watch. But every once in a while I get one or two that are too big for the fish to eat or the little bug is smart enough to find cover. Yay I learned something new!!!
