A couple of weeks ago my dad wanted 'more' to the pond and he added a mini mountain in the center of the pond. i think the mini mountain is call a 'hon non bo' http://www.honnon.com/index.asp

i really love it. it also provides shade and hiding places for the fish too.

enjoy the pics biggrin.gif

ignore the messy yard, rolleyes.gif

Wow! Looks impressive... It is large though, looks very heavy. Does it sit right on the bottom of the pond too then - how deep is the pond? I like the water flow through/over it, very nice.

Some of those Vietnamese-style garden pictures in that link are stunning.... exactly.gif
Ranchugirl
Wow, I love that rock fountain - and it doesn't look so small at all. Wonderful done job with it! thumbs.gif Now, we want to see FISH! biggrin.gif

Wow, that is really awesome. Did your dad make it, or did he buy it from that site you posted? How are the plants doing? Are they growing and providing shade for your fish? Your pond is really quite nice. smile.gif
Sushi67

the pond is about 28 inches deep. the mountain doesnt sit directly on the floor, but sits on cement blocks (you can see it in the background of the last pic) piled up, the, there is a circular base layed on top of those and the mountain is attached to the base. am i confusing? blink.gif .

my dad made with cement. a diy project, and it took about a week to complete. biggrin.gif he would first dig some shallow holes in the dirt and pour cement in. when it was dry and we would attach the pieces together to a base. there is a pvc pipe running from the filter and it goes inside the mountain and water flows out.

biggrin.gif

i dont have any recent pics of the fish though, these are from last month, Yamaha have got a lot paler, and the commets from petsmart have grown too, they are they size of Buffalo now.

love-rabbit-fish
thank you guys! biggrin.gif at first i was kind of disappointed about it, the cemet support blocks was taking away atleast 30 gallon from the pond! but now, im happy with it, and the fish have a great place to hide too.

but there is sad story here. my uncle have a pond, filled with koi and comets. he has tons of baby butterly matsuba or ogon koi from all the fish breeding!! druel.gif that time, i still have enough space and filtration for another koi. i ask my dad if he could ask for 1 baby koi from my uncle. my dad says he would go when he have some time.

a week ago, while i was at school, my dad brought home 3 koi, and maybe around 10ish goldfish!! ignore.gif all around 6-7 inches!!!! along with my crew of 10 goldies and 1 koi, i was EXTREMELY OVERSTOCK!! i was so mad! and in the group, there wasn't even 1 baby ogon koi that i really wanted. blowup.gif blowup.gif my dad understands that i only wanted 1 and only 1 fish. he said that he tried to tell my uncle that, my my uncle had a net that have too big of a hole for the babies. he dad said that he was just randomly net out any fish, and gave them all to us. my dad tried to put some back, but my uncle refused. so, i came home that day with a pond full of unfamiliar fish. i was so mad, and sad. now, i dont know what to do with them.

the bright side is that they are all very social, and they were handfeeding the next day. and he gave me a standard fin red matsuba. but the fish have a big head, too big for the body. they got along with my fish and no one got eaten...

i have also release Laces out to the pond. biggrin.gif he's hiding all the time under the mountain, and his dark colors and tiny size make him hard to see. but sometimes, he would come out and dart around, and that is when i'll get to see him.

thanks! i try to take pics when it is really sunny. i take them with 100 iso, and maybe with a lower ev setting. and macro has to be turned on. try to get close to the fish rather than zooming. handfeeding will really help. exactly.gif
Trinket
I can imagine you were angry but your uncle meant kindly. Well at least with all the space being overstocked is way kinder than being overstocked in a tiny tank. Just have to watch them and the water carefully. They sound gorgeous and would love to see more pics of the new ones biggrin.gif
love-rabbit-fish
thanks trinket, i know that he was being very nice, but at that time, i was so shocked. i'm alright now though biggrin.gif

sure! i have lots of pics of them, i'll post them up when i'll get home from school biggrin.gif. i thought i was being annoying when i post too much pics up rolleyes.gif
Shamu23
