I need help with my finless buddy. I got him 4 days ago from wallyworld. He's an albino tigerbarb with a bad case of finrot. I've been treating him with maracyn 2. I moved them into Stripe's tank today but he attempted to kill them so I put them back in the bucket. The albino barb got sucked onto the filter, I found him like that just a couple of mintues ago, so I put him in a net kinda like one of those breeding traps. He keeps tipping over onto his side, he keeps getting up but sadly I dont think he's gonna make it

, is there anything I can do for him? I dont wanna lose him, he's very special. I wont be able to keep an eye on him tomorrow cause school starts tomorrow, he's in bad shape, I dont know what to do anymore

please someone help!

post his water params for me please. Retest for me. With the severe fin rot you get other bacterial infections. he may be to far gone to save.

i'll test the water soon, wont be able to post results until tomorrow after school though. I cant tell right now if he's getting better or worse. I really hope he makes it, he seems awefully weak though, I guess moving to Stripe's tank and back was really stressful for him, Im just gonna leave him in the net and hope for a miracle.

ok, I just got back from my first day at a new school

, so the first thing I did was check on the little fishie and Im happy to say that he's still with us today. He aint looking great though. I will test the water asap and post the results this evening. Once I get a tank divider and a breeding trap i'll be able to place them in Stripe's tank again. Oh and one more question, are tank dividers transparent?

little fishie is still with us today, Im at school right now so I cant test water for ammonia or nitrate yet, when I get home I will do that and a waterchange, my mom is getting a breeding trap for me today, so if she does I will put him in the breeding trap in Stripe's tank, and this time I will actually float the fish before putting them in the tank, its the same water but I realized yesterday that theres a temperature difference, thats probably why he was so stressed last time, Stripe's tank has a heater, the bucket doesnt

the fishie isnt eating I dont think, he went toward the food but I dont think he got any, I will try feeding the powdered baby fish food, then if it goes near him he'll basically be forced to eat just by taking in water. I'll try to get liquid food too, that might take awhile though, my main concern right now is getting him to eat, what about gel food, would he eat that?

I just saw it now too with grain's post. I'm not on "The other fish" board too often.
Shamu, I hope he made it too.

thanks! I kept trying to get him to eat , and all of a sudden he started eating again! Good thing I never gave up on the little guy. He's alot more active now too, but will have to stay in the breeding trap until his fins grow back because he's still weak and easily loses his balance without his dorsal fin.
