Yesterday one of my triops died, he was molting I think, when I found him dead his head was red and bloody on the inside. My biggest triop had been swimming upside down for 2 days or so, and yesterday he started sinking, then when all his insides started turning bloody red I knew I was gonna lose him, I found him dead this morning cry3.gif , I know they have a short lifespan but this is weird

I'm sorry for your loss cry3.gif How long did you have your triops for?

All 3 are dead now, my smallest one died this morning and I knew it was gonna happen as soon as he turned red and started swimming upsidedown yesterday. It was so strange. I was watching him and he started swimming upside down, I looked away, then when I looked back he had turned red. As soon as that happened I did a big waterchange, but it was too late cry3.gif , Im sure they didnt die of old age, I've had them for 1-2 weeks, but they all died they same way- upside down and red!! I dont know what went wrong.....

Triops molt and can have molting complications just like shrimp do. If you had them for 2 weeks and there was some sort of gravel in the bottom of the tank you probably have eggs in the gravel. If you let the gravel dry for a few weeks and get it wet again you should be able to hatch out more.

I still have more than half of the eggs, Im gonna put a betta in there now and use an icecream pail for the triops if I decide to hatch more, Im still wondering why they died
