hey y'all... it's been a while... but i saw the sale ad5, and i had to inform everyone here that there's going to be a fishtank sale from 8/27 - 9/2 at Petco. $1 per gal. They're only for their rectangular fishtanks though up to 55 gal i believe... but still!!! just FYI. i'm thinking about picking up a 55 gal... but that all depends on if i have anywhere to put it. :-(

That's a GREAT Deal! I wish I had the space for a 55 -- got to get my storage room cleared out and turn it into a fish room again! Wish they had larger tanks on sale though..... Bummer. I'd love a 125.

Do you know if the sale is just in your area? I don't have a Petco near me, but I was wondering if they may be having the sale on-line, too?

Nickie, I looked at Petco.com, and it seems like the sale is at all Petcos, but it's in-store only, so I guess that means you'd have to drive to one.

I think I'm going to buy one!! I'm in the market for a new tank, so this is good for me, for sure.

yeah i'm fairly sure it's nation wide. it's in stores for the next week and they do mention that it's as long as the stores are in stock... so... i dunno if that means no rain checks. this is just a good time to pick up that one tank that you want... i think i might get one... and if i don't have room for it, just set it aside for now. i mean at least i'll have it for when i need it!

Thanks! I guess I will have to find out where the closest Petco is around me and see if I can get one. I would love a 55 gal and a 10 gal for a QT tank.

haha i am SO guilty! i went to the nearest petco only to find that most of the 55 gal. tanks were gone... they did however have one left. it had a bit of aquarium sealant on the front but no biggie... i can get that off so i snatched that one as quickly as i could. i couldn't help myself but to go to the other petco about 10 mins away, and low and behold they had four 55 gals still... haha so of course what did i do? i got another one. *sigh* i stood there for a bit, but in the end i couldn't help myself. i also got 2 new babies for my 72 gal. which is now stocked to the limit. (good thing i got those extra tanks eh?)

wow, that is so cheap! I wish we could go to the US to get a tank, we havent been there in awhile, they have an awesome petco not far from here, except my mom wont let me get more tanks

How long is the sale on? I won't be "home" until Tuesday and I'm hoping I can sneak one into the apartment....Then when my parents visit "Oh...That old thing? I've had it for YEARS!"

hehe happy fishtank hunting! just try to make sure you go in ASAP on tuesday... some of the stores are already running out of their 55 gal tanks. i asked the sales assistant guy how fast he expected the 55 gals to sell out and he said usually within the first two days! they have lots of 45, 40, and 29s though. i contemplated a 40... but decided with the 55. more water... more fish. haha.

Has anyone else lucked out on this sale? The nearest Petco we have to me is an hour away. Not too much of a drive, but I am terrible with directions! Not to mention that I really don't have the money this week to get a tank. SIGH! I guess I will have to wait...

hehe yeah it's just the tanks... the tag on the 55 gal says the original price was $109.99 so... it's about half off. =) i'm just trying to figure out where i can put them now hehe. they're currently still sitting in our van.

original price of $109 for a 55 gal? I picked up a 45 gal for $45. It's original price was $129. I guess they sell more 55 gal tanks.

Mine is sitting in the hall. I'm trying to figure out what lighting to to get. I was thinking of upgrading from my 29 gal and using it as a QT. It has two filters, but I'll need to get longer tubing for the Ehiem because the 45 gal is 5 inches taller.

YAY! glad to hear people are getting fishtanks that are on sale! hehe i know i spent a lot of time searching for my first big tank... i asked the petco guy and he says they do this about once or twice a year. sometimes they have sales where if you buy the stand, the tank comes free. so i'll be keeping my eyeballs peeled for that one!

i wish that they would let it go all the way up to 75 gallons xD

also, tink, if your saying that the reg price is 110 dollars for a 55 gallon alone, i would rather buy it at petsmart since they have a 55 gallon+hood/light for 110 gallon.

haha yeah while i was there, i was eyeballin' the 75 gallons. i actually don't have room to set up another tank. i've already got my 72 gal and 29 gal set up... and there are so many windows here and too much sunlight i've been having a hard time keeping the goldie tank free of algae. i literally have to wipe down the glass every week cuz it gets so green. *sigh* i'm just "storing" the 55 gal for now... until i have time and space to set them up. they're still in the van. haha.
