Alright, it looks like we've gotten the go-ahead for the third "kind-of" annual Tropical Photo Competition.

This time around I think it would be fun to have everyone e-mail your photo submission to me, I'll collect them all and make a website for voting. That way it keeps it secret who's photo it is, and everyone gets to see them at one time.

Submission Guidelines: Find your best quality fish-only photo and e-mail it to me a JSumner2@CoStar.com. Include your username and the type(s) of fish pictured (common name or scientific name is fine, I'll know what it is). After sending your e-mail, check back here, I'll post who has submitted photos for the competition. You will have three full weeks to take photos and get them e-mailed to me. The cut off for submissions will be 4:00 pm on Monday, Sept. 10, 2007. Mark your calendars.

Rules:
- Send a good quality photo of fish only. Group shots are allowed of the same type of fish. Shots of your entire tank are not - there is a seperate competition on Kokos for that.
- All submissions must be received by the due date, and must include the required information (username on this board and type of fish pictured). If you do not want to send your photos via e-mail, you may post them here and they will be included.
- Photos MUST be of your fish. Any discrepancy or disagreement will result in the photo being pulled from competition.
- This is a tropical competition and I would like to see tropical fish. That being said, you may include any freshwater fish you have EXCEPT goldfish and bettas (again, there are seperate competitions on Kokos for that). Coldwater and brackish fish are ok. Please no saltwater fish at this time, I'll offer to do a seperate competition for them later.
- Voting will begin on or after the evening of September 10th. I will post a link to the voting website here. Voting will run for a full month, at which time results will be tabulated and the winner announce. Please remember that there is no prize given and no official Kokos badge will be awarded. This competition is just for fun and of course bragging rights.
- Have Fun, and get your photos in!

This isn't a weekly or monthly competition, we only do it every once in a while.

There are no medals to be awarded, and only Koko gives out medals. This is just for fun.

I believe in the past we had someone that volunteered to do a badge that the winner could add to their signature themselves (I think it had the winning photo in it too) but that's up to you if you want to do that for the winner.

This is so cool--maybe you could name a second and third place winner, too.
