Full Version: Do Shubbies Have Barbels?
Forum > The Goldfish Topics > Goldfish Discussion > Goldfish Breeding
Yeah its me
The pond fiah were sold to me as shubbies but I know now that they are comets, a couple of them have small barbels and I just noticed that a couple of the fry have them also.

If NO goldfish have barbels.. well, that would explain why I cannot keep underwater plants in the pond and it is the ones with the barbels that do the most damage.

Some one smarter than me might correct me but I think only koi have barbells. I've never seen goldfish with barbells.
Yeah its me
Rats, I meant to say sarsas instead of shubbies.. it seems to me that I have read somwhere that sarsas have barbels too.. I will try to find that again.

No I have never heard of goldfish with barbels, neither sarassas nor shubies. The wild carp fish can have it though.
