Hey all, here's some pix of my water bowls, the bigger one I have acquired recently, we had to rip a section of fence down to get it into our yard. (the neighbours were highly impressed with that!)

I havent done anything with the large bowl yet, being the middle of winter here, the water is too cold. (Itried introducing a fish, but it passed reaLly quickly after being transfrrd from warm environment (asian import tank fish) to melbourne winter cold. think I'll wait til spring, there'll be a lot more wter plants around then too.

comparison of size..

comparison to 44litre esky

will update you all in october when the weather is fining up. yeah.gif
BeancurdTurtle
Holy cow!

How much water does it hold?
d_golem
That would be a fiiiine fish container! Get some tosas again, or TVR!! yeah.gif
Trinket
I was going to say the same thing- either TVR or tosakins again with their tails they look great from top view.

duh- I just did say the same thing kickbutt.gif
Mads
dunno unsure.gif think it could be up there around 200-250litres 60-70 gal. it's HUUUUUUGE krazy.gif
Mads
hmmmn, maybe, but I've been developping a fetish for some single tailed varieties, strange, I know, But I really like those imperial yellow comets, and perhaps a real nice calico comet. and I do like sarasas smile.gif
Trinket

ooh sounds lovely exactly.gif
OldHag
I love that huge bowl! biggrin.gif
jewels
beautiful!! wow looks great biggrin.gif
Peaches
Wow, thats a big bowl! I cant wait to see it complete with fish. I agree on the yellow comets. they are beautiful.
Chickey
Wowie! Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig crock! Tell me no one carried that! It's a great idea! I am curious: What is considered "winter cold" in Melbourne? I could never do that up here. the fish would have to be brought in for the winter. But it would be a great container pond for summer!

thanks for the photos, I hope your camera is o.k.

Hey! Stand out in front of your house and wave, I'll see if I can find you on Google earth biggrin.gif

(for those of you who are about to tell me that isn't possible: I know. it's a joke!)
Mads
winter cold here is down to 9-10 deg during the day, and down to 3-4 deg at night. we're in the thick of it at the mo' but there have been glimmers of spring here and there. we dont get sub-freezing temp, and no snow in the city, but it's still chilly and wet. (not complaining about the rain mind you, we've had a drought here for a good couple of years now...)

No prob's, my camera is fine btw!

Dave and me and a friend of ours sort of shifted it and rolled it on its side into position.

I've been standing on my roof waving for hours.... did you see me, did ya? biggrin.gif If you go look for St Kilda in Victoria and look along the foreshore, you'll see a long pier, and then to the right (east) of it a marina, inbetween the two there's a triangle site of land, with a large theatre hall on it, we're on the other side of the road overlooking the beach..biggrin.gif
Mads
come to think of it, you can see our house on koko's member's map, we're about 1cm (1/2") left of the pin marking us at st kilda... oh, btw 37 deg at nite -50 deg during the day, sorry, had a bit of a dumb moment and didn'y convert to fahrenheit rolleyes.gif

...and near that huge creepy laughing face with red lipstick and unusually straight teeth...

You can get down now Mads, I saw your bowl from outerspace! biggrin.gif St. Kilda looks like a very nice place to live. I would love to live that close to the ocean again.

I saw the theater! Luna park looks nice too. I was worried about blundering onto the huge creepy laughing face with red lipstick and usually straight teeth, but luckily I didn't see that. ohmy.gif Whew! dodged a bullet there!

If you wouldn't mind; Please paint a huge yellow goldfish on your roof so I know which house is yours rofl3.gif

LOL! I get that big scary face grinning at me every time I walk out of the house, y'know what's most scary, at night during the week when it's shut and Luna Park doesn't have any lights other than the fluro street lights pooling onto the pavement infront of the huge face, looming out at you. peepwallA.gif That's scary!... Actually, since bub's asleep and Dave's at home, I might pop out the front and see if I can get a pic of what it looks like when it's not looking cheerful in a postcard.... unsure.gif

HOAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA that's totally scaaaaaaaryyyyyy!!!! Why don't they make a happy Luna face like in Sydney's??

I remembered waiting for you beside it biggrin.gif
Mads
lol, yeah that's right. Man that was a hot day! icecream.gif what a scorcher!
Chickey
Yikes!!! Don't let Gene see it! He'll never sleep without a light on. (or you could use it to get him to eat his broccoli biggrin.gif ) That thing is horrible! Stephen King could write a novel about it. I would be paranoid that it was watching me all the time....waiting for me... Do you ever get that feeling...?? Maybe it's the EVIL Luna, unlike the Sydney Luna which must be smiling. (eerie music plays)

Why are clowns so scary?
Mads
Lol, Luna.. Y'know, it's not luna as in the moon... It's short for LUNACY krazy.gif krazy.gif she says being dragged away smiling, rocking back and forth in a nice long-sleeved jacket. bwAH HAR HAR Har.. clowns always freaked the living daylights out of me when I was a kid... unsure.gif
