Ok, so I'm watching my 3 guppy males and 1 barb in my 5 gallon here, and every now and then, the barb will come over, and just STARE at me, it's just floating there, tilted to the right on a diagonal. I've never seen it go to the left.
Sometimes the guppies do the same thing, swim to the front of the tank and stare at me, listing to the right. The filter *is* on the right side of the tank, could they be doing it to counter the flow? It just looks so...odd. Like dogs that tilt their heads when you make a funny noise. But they just stare.....

Never heard of that before, but it sounds kinda cute. You should get a pic of it

Hope someone else knows what's goin on.

...It's doing it again...I just fed them, so it can't be hungry. It just stares. Even if I get up and go across the room, it watches me.
It must watch me in my sleep too. This is getting seriously disturbing. My own fish are like...plotting my murder or something...."Alright...when the lights go out...You jump down her throat and make her choke to death!"

It could be to balance against the filter, but look at where the light source in the room is at. Fish orient their backs to the light so if you've got a bright window to their right, that could be it

That's cute that they stare though.

"attack of the guppies"
"attack of the guppies 2:RISE OF THE TIGER BARB"
they are stalking you, for a certain amount of stalking that can be achived in a 5 gallon glass coffin...

LOL tetralover. Reminds me of a southpark episode where Stan had a pet goldfish that came from an Indian burial ground (reference to Stephen King's Pet Cemetery) that kept killing people and nobody believed it was the fish. You better watch out...

The Neon Tetras in my tropical tank do the same thing!
Are they plotting something?...

Hmm...I try to have the light centered on the top, but when they're looking at me, it is on the right...
Ooh...another strange thing? My barb is so translucent, that I can see the food passing thru it's digestive system. Creepy. And I can see the swimbladder, and what I think are eggs.
