I seem to remember reading somewhere that if the tank had plenty of hiding spots you could keep a female betta with a male. Now i can't remember where i read this nor am i even sure if i actually read it somewhere...i THINK i read it before. It sounds familiar. Is this true?

I thought it sounded fishy rofl3.gif
Thanks. It's a shame bettas have to be like that. It would be a beautiful sight to see a tank full of half moons or crowntails..

you could set up a 20 gallon or ten gallon with dividers like this one from the betta site I belong to. That way you could have males and females in the same tank in their own divided section. It is really easy to make your own dividers. here is apost by Joby from one of the betta forums I belong to on how to make you own tanks dividers

I used to do that but i have 1 tank right now and it's a ten gallon. It's a mix of tropicals and my one male betta. I'd prefer to keep it simple by only having the one tank to clean so i'll just stick with my one betta for now. What i meant was it would be nice if they got along and could be together undivided and swimming around together.
