I'm so mad I could spit!!! A couple of days ago I posted about how my hubby hadn't been keeping up with his tropical tank and every one in it got kinda sick. Well now every one is VERY sick and I'm staring to loose fish. And what's worse is I have done absolutely EVERYTHING that I can do for them at this point. They've got ich, fin rot, and secondary bacterial infections. I'm treating aggressively but for all my meds they just aren't getting better. They just keep sliding down hill.

This is the male High Fin swordtail. He's in really bad shape and I think he's gonna be the next one to go. I hate it when my best still isn't good enough. They wouldn't be in this shape if my husband had been caring for them properly. cry3.gif

Oh how disappointing, after all your hard work to get the tank back on track too... sad.gif

Don't give up yet 00001649.gif It sounds like most of the problems were brought on by water quality issues so maybe lot's of nice clean water and some medications and a bit of time can turn it around. You're doing a grand job!

I think Koko needs to get her koko stick onto your husband, until she gets back I'll do it for you head.gif

It's an on going battle between he and I. He's still sleeping on the couch because he won't even apologize about it. His excuse was that he was just too busy to take care of it and that I should have done something about it along time ago. My point of view is that they're his pets and if he didn't have time to take care of them then he should have found a home for them where someone does have time for them.

I don't know too much about tropicals - but would it help to seperate them out a little, say the more delicate ones from the hardier ones, the ones can that can tolerate higher doses fo salt/medications form those that can't and so on, so you can treat them more aggresively. I guess the other thing is that you maybe have to accept it's happened now and get your hubby to work with you to get them better. Very best of luck with them, you'll turn it around I'm sure 00001649.gif

The little guy doesn't look good. Keep doing water changes and keep the water as pristine as possible. Good luck w/ the tank, and w/ your husband smile.gif

The poor little things! Are they showing any signs of improvement yet? Just get them well, then you can go and pan.gif your hubby! Shame on him. Keep up the good work...diligence pays off. smile.gif

No signs of improvement sad.gif they just keep getting weeker. I'm debating on weather or not I should put them down because they really seem to be suffering.

I've been doing two water changes a day and breaking my piggy bank on meds. There's nothing else I can do for them.

Aw man. Sorry to hear that. I know you're going to keep trying, but in the meantime, I'm sure your DH must feel awful seeing all the chaos that's happening. I hope you're making him feel very guilty! Let me know if you need help. rolleyes.gif

My hubby doesn't feel the same way about fish that we do. He likes them, thinks their pretty, and what ever but to him their just fish. Easily replaced if lost. I love the man but he's really stomping on my heart here. To me it's a living thing that suffers just like we do when sick or injured. I can empathize I've been cooped up, injured and received crappy care before. But the difference is I have a voice...they don't.
