before you get a fish, i just want to know how big your tank is.
Any goldfish will go just fine with your oranda except for the more visually impaired ones. Ex- bubble eyes, celestrials, moors, and telescopes. They may have a harder time finding food than your oranda. so while they are still trying to find food, your oranda is gulping it all down leaving the other fish with nothing. Same with the commons/ comets except your oranda wont get any food because he is slower than the olympic swimmers, known as commons/ comets.

my tank is currently 10 gallons but i plan to get a 25 gallon tank. my oranda does not eat much and is very docile! tongue.gif

i wouldn't get a fish yet. even if he is small. only because planning isnt as good as actually having a larger tank. if you get another fish, but getting a larger tank doesnt work out, then you will be stuck being over sticked until you can take a fish back.

i guess i was getting a little ahead of my self!! tongue.gif

Oh cool! I have a 20 G, but no place to put it! I'd say... an oranda, black moor, or ryukin! orandas my fave. i have a TEENSIE WEENSIE little oranda that is maybe an inch and a half! I named her nemo! my friend wanted to name her puppy bcuz she has a soft puppy dog face! i have an oranda and a ryukin. they get along pretty well! I used to have a little 1 inch black moor, but my mom didnt care for him properly and he died when i was at camp =[ R.I.P. GOOGLE

I think im gonna keep my oranda in his tank and put two black moors in the 20 gallon!

Just kinda FYI although it is known as "the 10 gallon rule" in actuality 10 gallons is NOT big enough for a goldfish! I have a 29 gallon tank which homes 2 Lionheads......I cannot imagine putting my Oranda in there by himself!! Big Boy's body is about 5+ inches long......not counting any fins! He's as big as my hand!

The 10 gallon rule is leads people to think that one goldfish can live in a ten gallon tank. Actually keeping the parameters right & keeping it properly cleaned would be quite a job.

i have a 29 gallon tank too. apparently only my Nipper is in there because his buddy got sick... sad.gif

I have my little Taco Salad in a 10 gallon too, but Im planning to upgrade once he gets big, and if I can get a pond maybe he'll go in there for awhile, eventhough probably not since if I do get it Im planning to get single tailed goldies smile.gif

Taco Salad ROXXXX!!!! tee hee ^.^

Hmmm, I like moors, so you should get one! Ummm, if you want a third, why not try a pearlscale, they are ADORABLE, and they don't get quite as big as some of them. biggrin.gif
Oranda896
i plan to upgrade his tank as he grows! he is only about 1-2 in. long. oh and..........LONG LIVE TACO SALAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
