ooo i am so worried! Gibby was hanging around near the bottom and moving kinda slow. She has been slowing down over the last couple of days. Every now and then one of the others would give her a little nudge in the tail but no one is persistantly chasing her.
I decided to find out once and for all if she has eggs. I lifted her, turned her over and sure enough- I was able to witness eggs coming out of her. the slightest pressure and she dropped more. but just a few. I did not want to go any further with that because I know she could be hurt by it.
She seems to be just dropping them here and there as she goes along. not all at once like I thought she should.
Now I am thinking that all the chasing I have been seeing is just for the tasty eggs and not breeding behavior. that's o.k. really.
What worries me is that Gibby is getting no help releasing the eggs. The other thing that bothers me is that her anus seems a little pinkish. is that normal?
I gave her peas to eat today and did a total water change . I am not sure the water change was needed, but I want her to have great conditions.
Right now she is looking for more peas to eat, but she seems heavy.
