krazy.gif I spent a couple of hours today removing half the gravel from my 3 tanks. ill.gif Its a horrible task! Im moving in about 3 weeks and I plan to sell all my gravel thus I have to have it all out in bags. I scoop it out with a net, put it into a noodle strainer over a bucket, then pour it into another bucket before pouring it into double layered plastic bags. ohmy.gif It takes a lot of work not to mention makes the water super cloudy. I will NOT be having gravel anymore! krazy.gif

Ok just had to rant! biggrin.gif
Peaches
yeah, it is a pain. we had to do it when we moved the 30 gallon from the tv room to my bedroom
glitterfish
The part that sucks the most is I still have half the gravel to go! The tanks are a 40, 55 and 75. Its taking forever!
Peaches
wow! i thought the 30 gallon was bad.

Well its good for the fish you're taking it slow but a big hassle for you. I have slowly taken gravel out of almost all tanks now. I still have one left to go, but I didn't bag it up for selling- that's double the work ohmy.gif

How many tanks can you manage to take Erin and will you be taking all your fish?

First of all who changed my title? Was it not grammatically correct? rofl3.gif

Imogen, Im taking only 1 tank for the fish, the 75. I am also taking 2 40 g for my lizards and a 30 g for my turtle. smile.gif Yes I am taking all of my fish. I hope its not as hot as it is now there or there may be problems.
Lolafish
It is definately a daunting task. I didn't have a cloudy issue though (I spent hours cleaning mine before putting it in when I first set up the tank), and my UV sterilizer does a fantastic job. I took out half of it at one time, and still plan to remove maybe 1/3 of what is left, just to help with Nitrates. I like the look of gravel though, so won't go bare bottomed. smile.gif But trying to get in the mood to remove the rest....yuck. I always think of better things to do. rofl3.gif

First of all who changed my title?

Isn't that weird- I thought it said something else too.. headscratch.gif Those night elves again biggrin.gif
I've noticed if you put small first letters in the title it corrects them to big letters. Auto grammar!

Yeah, I remember pulling the gravel out of my 30 gallon when I went barebottom. I was awful getting those last few little remnants out of there. I set up my 20 gallon barebottom from the start, so I didn't have to worry about it. smile.gif We learn from experience. smile.gif
glitterfish
Imo, I noticed that! rolleyes.gif

I like the look of gravel too but where I will be living waterchanges will be a bit more difficult than here so being without gravel is the best bet, for awhile. smile.gif

Just call me the "Grammar and Profanity Nazi". wink.gif

Since the title contained a phrase that is directly refering to an explicit sexual act, it does not belong on this family oriented site.

I realize that in the general vernacular, that particular phrase has almost "de-evolved" from its original meaning, but I still find it offensive and not particularly acceptable. Since I have "da Power" I removed it.

Ahh, interesting! Well you know I didnt mean it that way, especially since Im talking about removing gravel, but I see why you changed it. smile.gif
