Hi, Since around here, we have a higher ph and hard water, i was wondering how you could lower it for some fish that like soft water with a low ph. I've been researching some different kinds of chemicals, but ive read that those arent suggested. so again, I was wondering if there was a simple way of lowering ph and hardness(gh).

Use some distilled or RO water mixed with your hard tap water to lower the pH and hardness. The RO or distilled water has, for all intents and purposes, ZERO buffer and a perfect 7.0 pH. Mixed with the tap, you can lower the pH.
Remember, you have to learn your mix and test test test.....

ok. But, could i get the ph below 7.0 with the RO water?

I had been wondering that too, because I was thinking of keeping Discus. But then again, they say most of the breeders' fish can handle the higher PH.
Is there a filter for a fish tank that does RO, or do you have to get the filter for your tap and use directly from there?

Same here. Ive managed to find space for a 38 gallon tank.
