Congrats!! all the pond space looks like its doing them wonders! Theyre so big already.
Lizzy
They certainly do look big already!
Congrats :-)

Its always nice when they start to colour and you can see how they're forming :-)
OldHag
Thanks! Yes I think the pond is the best place to breed goldies, the fry I have had out in pond grew faster than fry indoors. I guess pond water is nutricious and the fry gets very hardy out in pond. They learn how to survive and to hide from the bigger hungry fish.
Lizzy
How do so many survive though?
Is it a special shallow part or something?
Mine always get eaten if I dont scoop them out!
Ranchugirl
Wow, your guys have been busy again, Annette! Thud.gif Good for you, they look so happy and healty. And of course, leave it to me to figure out what those blueish things are on the pictures. Took me until picture 3 to notice that that is pond netting.... rofl2.gif
OldHag
biggrin.gif Yes I should have explained about the pond net.... biggrin.gif

When they are tiny they live in a shallow part of the pond, there are stoes and plants and they hide well there. When they grow bigger they move out into the deep and someway they manage.

I don't expect all these fry to survive, last summer I had 18.
