Hello everybody,
I have light fixture that take 2 x 55 watts power compact light. Can I change 55 watts light bulb with 40 watts or lower wattages one? Thanks
SnBMeg
As long as the new lights fit in the fixture fine, I'd don't think it would be a problem.

Since you didn't say specifically what brand of fixture it is, I can't say with 100% surety, but if it's anything like my compacts (Satellite Single and Dual by Current), then if the new lights have the same pin system and are long enough to reach the support clips, I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. smile.gif

why do you want to change it out to a lower wattage light?

Thanks SnBMeg...

d999,
For my Green Water setup, I only need 1 watt per gallon. I can save some $$$ on electric bill as well.

do they even sell lower wattage??
i changed out the actinic's on mine for a double daylight, but all the bulbs for that size had the same wattage
mine is a coral life power compact, four pin (japanese i think)

not sure how your light is, but mine runs the actinic and daylights seperate so i get to choose which bulbs i actually run.
if you only run one then that will save you some dough and cut down on the wattage
if its just one 50/50 style bulb then it cant be done though
