I am feeding omgea one small sinking pellets how many should I feed at a given time. I have 1 caclio goldfish. If I feed him what he can eat in 2 mins thats like up to 10 or more. I have been giving him about 3-5 at a time 3 times a day does that sound ok or too much. He gets peas 1 time a week on the day he gets peas he does not get the pellets.

That sounds about right, although IMO you may want to increase the amount of food you feed through out the day and perhaps, in addition to the peas and pellets, feed a vegetable food occasionaly. A couple of good examples would be romaine lettuce, blanched zucchini, dried seaweed to name a few.
Jack of Hearts
One of my fish is sick and cannot pick food off the gravel. The only way to feed him is to aim and drop the food right by his mouth. The healthy fish(Oranda) eats all the food(currently Medigold) on the gravel and has gotten enormous. He has grown twice the size in the last couple of month(he is about 4 years old). His body(not including fins) is 4" long and 2 1/2" top to bottom. His body is full and robust. Add his enormous dorsal fin and tailfin which is probably 4-5" long and you have a pretty big fish. biggrin.gif

what kind of sickness does your one goldfish have? i was just wondering because it might be contagious and spread to your Oranda o.o;;

that sounds good. You can also feed him Omega bloodworms once a week biggrin.gif

just about how old is your calico anyway? age does have a big factor in feeding.

How large is the fish? As they get bigger they will need more. My 5 and 6 inch fish eat at least 20 pellets each at a time. The second daily feeding is gel food/veg/other and not every day.My smaller fish maybe 10. Since goldfish will go on eating usually foir quite some time the main thing is to adapt feeding to your cleaning regime. Heavily fed fish/tanks will need more water changes to keep nitrates down and bacteria in control. If that's not possible you should feed less.
JMO but 3 x at 3-5 pellets sounds allright in amount but not in variety.
