yes i have three of them, i have them for about a year and a half, still doin good, i got three for a dollar on sale!! theyre great and fun to watch, i have them in with my cherry barbs and other tropical fish, but not goldfish.

I used to have 2 in a tank at my work, they were in with tropicals and did well. I was told that they were good for eating pest snails. Mine never touched the snails, but loved the flakes and algea wafers. I have since left that job but I was in the office a while ago and they were still doing well. I think they are about 2 years old or so.

I have three in with one of my tropical tanks. They love to burrow in the gravel. They will eat just about anything I put in there for the other fish. If you want them to eat snails and they currently won't, take a snail and smash it so its in smaller pieces/not in its shell. As soon as I did this once they got the idea and would eat the other pest snails in the tank.

I have a Coolie Loach, his name is Speedy because he's the fastest fish I've ever seen in my life,lol. He is so cute and really entertaining to watch, but spends most of his time under the big rock or the cave that I made for him.
