I stumbled across an announcement that some HBH foods had been recalled, for melamine contamination (same stuff that was in the recalled dog foods a while back).

I hadn't seen anyone else post anything, so I figured I could just to be safe. I'm guessing a couple people use this food...

Also, I checked, and the announcement is on the manufacturer's website too: http://www.hbhpet.com/newsrecall.htm

No one here has been able to find any information regarding a gel food recall. Since there is no information indicating that there is any problem with the gel food, we have to assume that there are NO RECALLS on the gel food.

The only recall that can be found is the one that sharp eyed Kiya has found - involving pelleted foods. She has properly posted the links to this recall, so you can check your specific food for problems.

Rats....I just bought some HBH Supersoft in the States. Allthough it is not on the list, I'm now scared to use it again.

Good spot!

Thanks!

I did a somewhat extensive Google-search for any other fish food recalls, and didn't come up with anything on a gel food...

I did find a recall from June 5th, for Atlantis Fish Flakes in a few news/blog reports.

Here's a link to the American Veterinary Medical Association with information about all the different pet food recalls.

Their press release about fish food recall is here.

Here is the list of fish foods that have been recalled.
