Full Version: Question About Ground Probes

I bought one of those grounding probes, however, have not installed it yet. The instructions say NOT to submerse the transition joint and suction cup, but then the area it covers is longer than the water level in my tank. In order to make sure my tank's water level is high enough, it only leaves maybe an inch to the top rim. I'd have to have the water level somewhere around 3" below the top rim to use this.

Does anyone actually have one of these grounding probes? How is yours installed? blink.gif

I have never seen a "ready made" ground probe - I have always made my own.

Perhaps if you could post up a picture of the configuration of yours, we could help you.....

This is fine in Discussion, but I think I will move it to Equipment for you. smile.gif

Bump

I still haven't put this thing in my tank. I don't see how this particular one can be used without considerably lowering the water level. If I do that, the filters will be too noisy.

I supposed not too many people use these, am I correct? Should I just send it back do ya think?

Last bump....then I'm sending this stupid probe thing back. I don't think anybody uses these. rofl3.gif

you could try putting it on an angle if it doesnt fit your tank straight down.

instead of |, try putting it like / or \

bending it should work too. no reason for it not to. its just metal

See now, I didn't even think about that. Thanks!
