i just got my first quick dip test kit straps
it doesnt tell u if its good or bad, only the ones that says safe-unsafe and danger


total hardness-which is good-->very soft 0-25 or soft 25 or hard 150 or vey hard 300

Total alkalinity-which is good-->low 0-40 or moderate 80 or ideal 120-180 or high 300

ph freshwater-which is good-->Acidic 6.2 or neutral 6.8-7.2 or alkaline 7.8-8.4

Am not too sure about these test strips. For more accurate results it is best to use a drop test kit. API do a Freshwater Master Test Kit.

Soft water is acidic water which goldfish do not like. Goldfish prefer alkaline water conditions. A pH range of 6.8 minimum to around pH 8.0 is fine main thing is pH remains constant.
