Most of you know, I was trying very hard to brew green water. Finally I get green water in my 10 g testing enviroment. I use a lot of lighting for that setup. I brew green water with ammonia (fishless brewing).
I transfer my green water into 29 gallons tank. Now my 29 is green and I have 36 watts on it for 12 hours per day. I need to buy lighting system for my 55 gallons tank.
What is the gallon per wattage for indoor green water? Thanks.

Bumping this for you Fred. I read once that 8 watts is enough with window light but I'm no expert.

Thanks my friends... I need to upgrade the light but I don't want to kill my electricity bill as well. Do I need 2 watts per gallon for green water?

you really need as much lighting as you can get if you want green water.

Thanks buddy. I know the upper limit for lighting requirement. But I am trying to find the lower limit for cost effectiveness reason. Thanks again.
