Q Tank See Sig, .3% salt, Prazi treatment a week ago. Ammonia .25, Nitrite .25, Nitrate 5ppm, PH incoming 7.6, in tank PH 6.8, 1 AquaClear 20 and 1 AquaClear 50, 50% water changes daily
Feeding Medigold primarily and algea wafers every other day.
Recently started Pimafix and Melafix and removed the other Goldfish, since they had been in Quarantine for over two weeks with absolutely no symptoms.
The one goldfish left in the tank is the Bronze Ranchu. I've had him for 5 weeks. He has had a sore, shortly after we got him, that looked like he had hurt one side of his mouth. It looked raw/red on one corner. Nothing really happened until we started the Pimafix and Melafix. It looked like it had gone away. Then, two days ago, it came back with a vengeance. In addition to the mouth, he now has a red raw looking cheek on the same side and his head seems to be getting pale, almost gray.
Today, he started staying at the top and occasionally turning about 45deg on his side. It also looks like his breathing has slowed. I started the Pimafix and Melafix again, but he may be too far gone.
All the other fish in the tank have been totally healthy.
Not sure what else I can do.

Aww. Sorry to hear that Doc. sad.gif

I think perhaps what you were seeing was septicemia setting in from a lingering bacterial infection. Sometimes they go septic really quick.

In the future, when there are ulcers evident or something bacterial in nature is suspected, you should treat with the best antibiotics you can find. Generally, the best waterborne treatments are maracyn 1 and 2. Use both at the same time if you have no general knowledge of the visual differences between pseudomonas and aeromonas infections.

I hope the others continue to thrive for you! biggrin.gif
