I have a Black Moor that has a drooping dorsal fin. I'm really worried about him, is this something I should be worried about. It isn't drooping ALL the time, about 30% of the time I'd guess. Just did a 35% water change a half hour ago and the fin seems more erect, but definitely still drooping. I don't want my fish to die, so could anyone help here?
* Tank size (How many Gals) and How long has it been running? 2.5 gallon rectangle tank, 5 days, uncycled.
* What is the name and size of the filter/s? None
* How often do you change the water and how much? 30% Every Other Day
# How many fish in the tank and their size: 1 1.5 inch Black Moor
# What kind of water additives or conditioners? TetraFin Ammonia Remover, Tetra AquaSafe
# Any medications added to the tank? None
# Add any new fish to the tank? None
# What do you feed your fish? ColorFin sinking granules
# Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt",
bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? Not a trace
# Any unusual behavior like staying
at the bottom, not eating, ect..? He doesn't really stay at the bottom, I'm just worried about the drooping fin

Hi, sorry to hear you are having issues with your fish.
I can advise right away that the fish is suffereing from poor water quality.
GF need 10-20 gals of water each to live in. This is because the waste they put out is extreme. You also need a filter system when keeping gf, this helps to ensure a stable biological cycle in the water and tank. Without it the water becomes toxic to the fish.
Until you can upgrade tanks/filters, I can recommend changing 100% of the water daily. But that will only buy a small amount of time before the fish gets worse and dies. Sorry to be frank with you, but water quality is everything to a fish, without it........well they don't live long.

I'm working on getting a 10 gallon tank right now, but I'm afraid for awhile, I'm going to try and half to make this do. I'll do what I can to keep him alive, all I can hope for is that he'll make it until I get a larger tank setup for him
