This morning I awoke to see what looks like a piece of cotton stuck to my Telescopes eye.

After the turtle ate his whole tail and most of his fins, I placed him in a tank 2 days later,
adding melafix and feeding melagold.

I noticed his one eye was swollen after the attack and thought it might be because
he got stuck in a few spots in the pond and because he was swimming funny
and bumping into things. It didn't look like the turtle got his eye.

After being in the tank 30 hours the swelling seemed to go down. Today I see this cotton
looking substance stuck to his eye, although I do feel the eye is not swollen anymore.

What is this? The water is testing fine. Is this just the healing process?

He is not eating as much as he did and he just stays under the filter in the tank so the
water hits his back. Is that normal?

Yesterday I saw 2 good poo's but the thrid was a light yellow and looked really thin & translucent.
This morning the poo looks better but not as thick, but he is not eating much.

I fed this fish by hand when he was in the pond. He always came running up to me and
the way he sucked my fingers was strong. Now it's much weaker and he doesn't really care.
It's more that I get lucky dropping a piece into his mouth.

Anyone know what this cotton stuff is?

Hi, my little buddy had that, it went away with meds, it should go away with the melafix, i wouldnt be too concerned about his appetite yet since the move was probably stress full but if he's still not eating in a day or two then I would be worried.

How is the fish doing?

He seems to be doing better, he's eating and the poo looks normal.
His eye is not swollen, in fact now it is 1/2 the size of the healthy eye. I don't know what that means.
thanks for asking
Shamu23
so his eye is getting smaller?
bluiis
yes Shamu, once the swelling was gone his eye was much smaller than the other and still is. you know how telescopes eyes bulge out, well the one that got hurt got so much bigger and now it's 1/3 smaller than the healthy eye.
