helo..i'm "sure" by the way from the Philippines..u c guys i'm a new golfishkeeper..my tank is 15 gals and i hav 3 orandas (avg. 3 inches) and a ryukin..i also hav 2 live plants in the tank and i'm using 2 corner filters (u may laugh at this but as u all know we are way behind when it comes to technology).. my tank has been running for only 3 weeks.. my problem is that my ryukin starts to get sick and he has red/pink blemishes in his belly..when i arrive from the office he sat at the bottom of the tank..but when i feed them he becomes active for food and i can see him flashing as if he's body is very itchy.. i tried to use methylyn blue but it did not change his condition..i also added 1 percent salt yesterday.. i also notice one of my orandas display a different behavior, he became slow but mobile and has red marks (like blood) in his tail.. pls help me.. and thank u very much..God bless you all..

How often are you replacing your water? I suggest you put a post in the diagnosis section and fill out evreything in the box.

As far as I know.. your tank is overstocked, one goldfish need at least 10 gal. The blood vessel in tail are cause by stress. Did you mean 0.1% of salt or 1%? And yeah..you should post it in the 911 section and get all the params you can so the mods can get an idea of whats happening.

The red marks on its tail is from stress / bad water quality. The red spots on the ryukin might be costia.

Your tank isnt all the way finished with its biological filtration. While this process takes place you need to do al least 2 water changes a week until you have enough bacteria to help with the cycle. It could take a couple months. I suggest you getting test strips, so you can test you water params regularly. Only with proper care and excellent water quality ill your fish get better.

Keep us updated on your fish and how they are doing...

halo guys..thank you so much for the concern.. i treated them with mekkapor, one tablet per 13 gals of water and i did not fed them until tonight..but i've seen that their getting better..the red blemishes in my ryukin's belly started to fade and he is not standing by on the bottom of the tank.. my oranda is also getting better but have not yet fully recovered but constanly moving slowly..

KEL i added my aquarium with 1% salt.. So that's stress...now i know.. and i will do water change 2 times a week..i hope they'll get even better..

with regards to your suggestion to post my concern on 911..i'll try to do that.. and your correct..hehe..

(surex) i would suggest buying a master kit it is cheaper than buying all the individual test kits. the master kit includes ph, nitrite, nitrate, amonia and there is one more but i can not remember it now. but the four i have listed are the important ones and the other one i can't remember must not be important. you should try ebay, or a fish shop online they will have it. i no in australia i had to do a bit of searching before i found the master kit but i gave in and got my lfs to order one in from their neighbouring store in toongabbie.
