just a little question how much of a differants do plants make to the constent cycle of the tank

Depends on how many plants you have in the tank... one half-nibbled java fern won't make much difference! If you have quite a few plants though then they do help to reduce nitrates.

and they add oxygen to the water. and it looks very nice in a tank and goldies love it!!!

They will add O2 to the tank, but also remember that they also use O2 during the night time to. So make sure your tank isnt overly stocked with fish.
Plants can be fun but also alot of work too

my tank is not that over stocked i have 4 fish in a 22.5 gal

I read somewhere that the ideal conditions for any live plant were different for goldfish. Isnt that true?
And isnt it supposed to be 10g per fish?
Oh well. Who am i to say? I have some leafy thing flourishing in my slightly overcrowded tank, and i havent had many problems for a while.
