Shubunkin Queen
Late january this year we got three comet fish and put them in our pond in the back yard. With lillies and duck weed etc. They feed mostly on mosquito lava, plants and flake food. The fish in the pond are 1 gold and 2 shubunkins and they where fairly small.

Over the last 2 weeks we have had rain and just now we have just checked the pond and have noticed fry at about the size of a small red cloud minnow with shubunkin pattern. Not sure how many are in there but we have noticed 4 fry in there. biggrin.gif

Have no idea how old they are. blink.gif

I have since discovered 12 fry and looking at some of the photos on here they are about 2 weeks old in size. I'm wondering if the pic downpour of rain about 2 weeks ago has encourage the adults to sporn.

Update the fry i reported two weeks ago there are 8 two have shubunkin markings the other 6 are a brown colour and all have grown.

Today we saw some more fry smaller than the 8 bigger ones, and i have a feeling the adults have spawned again.

In the pond we have 3 adults, 2 shubunkins and a orange coloured fish. We got them in late January this year and the 3 were an inch long. We are now in May, and one of the shubunkins is now 5 inches long, the other shubunkin about 3 inches long and the orange one about the same.

I would love to take pics of the fry, but its hard to they love the sun so thats when they come out of hiding.
